Early Life and Education
A native of New York, NY, Brian S. Lyda, Sr. has forged a diverse and accomplished career at the intersection of law and real estate. His journey began as an Eagle Scout in the Middle Tennessee Council, a testament to his early discipline and leadership. After graduating from Tullahoma High School, he pursued a rigorous curriculum in biomedical engineering at Boston University’s School of Engineering, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in 1994.
Driven to expand his expertise, Mr. Lyda entered a prestigious joint-degree program, earning a Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School at Union University and a technical MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in May 2000. His academic excellence was recognized with honors in business law and estate planning, culminating in the esteemed Herbert E. Cohen Prize for demonstrating exceptional potential in corporate law and taxation.
While at Albany Law School, he also served as the executive editor for the Albany Law Journal of Science & Technology, where he authored the timely article, “The Y2K Problem and Director Liability: Does the Business Judgment Rule Apply?”
Real Estate Career
In 2015, Mr. Lyda channeled his entrepreneurial drive to found Prime Listings, Inc., a residential and commercial real estate brokerage. As the principal broker, he leads a dedicated team of four licensed salespersons, expertly guiding clients through the complexities of buying, selling, and investing in property. He expanded his professional reach in 2022 by becoming a licensed salesperson in Vermont, joining the team at Perrott Realty in Bennington.
Mr. Lyda is an active member of several leading professional organizations, including:

Current Role at Morgan Legal Group
In August 2023, Mr. Lyda brought his extensive experience to Morgan Legal Group, P.C., where he now concentrates on guardianship and estate litigation. He provides comprehensive legal strategies for closely-held and family-owned businesses, advising on critical issues such as tax planning, exit strategies, asset protection, and buy-sell agreements.
His practice also encompasses elder law and estate planning, with a specialized focus on Medicaid planning, drafting sophisticated asset protection trusts, and creating pooled supplemental needs trusts to preserve inheritances for beneficiaries.
A seasoned litigator, Mr. Lyda frequently represents clients in Surrogate’s Courts in probate and administration proceedings, guardianship cases, and other related matters. His versatile legal expertise extends to real estate advisory, civil and commercial litigation, construction and lien law, contract and lease review, real estate development, tax certiorari, and landlord/tenant law. He also serves as the attorney for the Town of Hoosick Planning Board.
